The Office of Homeland Security's mission is to provide a comprehensive all-hazards approach to Homeland Security initiatives, intelligence sharing and analysis, mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery and special events in order to protect life and property and prevent and/or reduce negative impacts of terrorism and natural disasters in Rabun County. This is accomplished through the Emergency Support Function (ESF) 13, Public Safety and Security, of the National Response Framework and is accomplished through direct and supportive coordination of the Rabun County Emergency Management Agency and other city and county first responder organizations. The Rabun County Sheriff's Office maintains a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) through the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM).
